Look out for a new name on candidates’ financial disclosure reports – influential fundraising consulting firm Nashban Mansur is now Culver Place Strategies. A former partner Adam Nashban, got married and moved to Oregon, so David Mansur has a new partner: Allegra Scheinblum. Scheinblum was previously vice president of client relations for Nashban Mansur. Mansur is gay and appeared on City & State’s Pride Power 50 list. Scheinblum is a lesbian, making the new firm fully LGBT owned.
The firm has consulted for some big names in New York City politics, including state attorney general candidate Letitia James and former state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. It has also done work for Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and former New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito. The firm normally keeps a low profile, and doesn’t appear to have a website. Mansur told City & State that the name Culver Place was derived from his grandmother’s hometown of Culver City, California. “She’s very politically active, so that’s the first place I did politics,” he said.
