Maloney hosting fundraiser for endangered congresswomen

Rep. Carolyn Maloney is hosting a fundraiser Thursday night to support six female Democratic congressional candidates in tough races around the country.

Billed as a “Fierce on the Frontline” fundraising event, the proceeds will go to support five incumbents – Reps. Julia Brownley of California, Cheri Bustos of Illinois, Elizabeth Esty of Connecticut, Ann McLane Kuster of New Hampshire and Stephanie Murphy of Florida – as well as Ann Kirkpatrick, who’s seeking an open House seat in Arizona.

“These fierce Democratic women know how to win tough, competitive races, and this event tonight will help them win the races we need to take back the House,” Maloney said in a statement. “We need everyone’s help to turn back the right-wing agenda of the Trump administration, and I am honored to help these women lead the charge.”

She is expected to be joined by fellow New York Reps. Grace Meng, Eliot Engel, Hakeem Jeffries and Nita Lowey at the fundraiser.
