After 18 months as the Deputy Communications Director for state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, Andrew Friedman is leaving the office to become a VP at one of the city’s top political and public affairs communications firms, BerlinRosen. He will be joining the firm’s growing crisis communications practice.
As Deputy Comm. Dir., Friedman managed press strategy for the office’s criminal division, including financial crimes and public integrity bureaus. Among the cases he was heavily involved in were the indictment of former Met Council CEO William Rapfogel, the lawsuit of Donald Trump’s university, actions against Airbnb and the public corruption cases involving New York City Councilman Ruben Wills and Assemblyman William Scarborough.
Before joining the Attorney General’s office Friedman had an Emmy award-winning career in television news working for 12 years at WCBS-TV and ending his career as the an Assignment Manager. Before his stint at WCBS, he worked for the FOX and NBC affiliates in New York City.
Friedman brought that experience to the AG’s office, helping improve messaging to local and national television outlets.
