Rockland County has a new radio host with an Albany connection.
State Sen. David Carlucci’s new radio show, “The Albany Report,” debuts today at 10:10 a.m. on WRCR AM 1300.
The show, which will air every third Friday of the month, will focus on Rockland County and state issues. Carlucci said it’s a forum to discuss important topics affecting county residents. Friday’s show will feature Nyack Mayor Jen White and AAA’s John Cortlett, who will touch on transportation issues.
“I thought, ‘Hey, why not?’” Carlucci said of his new gig. “(It’s) another way to have a longer dialogue with residents. That’ll be exciting.”
The lawmaker is not new to the airwaves. He has been calling in to the Steve and Meredyth Morning Show since before being elected to the state Senate in 2010.
Carlucci, one of four members of the Independent Democratic Conference, said his show isn’t for pushing IDC ideas or agendas. “It really doesn’t have much to do with the IDC,” he said. “It’s really about Rockland County.”
