From black-tie galas to networking dinners and everything in between, New York’s politicos know how to party. And it’s that time of year again – when elected officials, lobbyists and media outlets host their annual holiday parties. Here are some of the holiday celebrations that City & State is adding to its calendar:
Hell Gate, Dec. 5: The irreverent politics blog is hosting its second annual holiday party at the Sugar Hill Restaurant & Supper Club (217 Nostrand Ave.,) at 7 p.m., featuring DJs purp and Lee Cash. (We don’t know who they are, either.)
New York Focus, Dec. 9: The up-and-coming nonprofit investigative org will host its annual holiday party at The Armory bar (149 4th Ave., Brooklyn) at 7 p.m.
Manhattan Young Democrats, Dec. 11: The next generation of Democratic staffers will celebrate the holidays at Solas (232 East 9th St., Manhattan) at 7 p.m., where club members will receive a free drink ticket.
Greater NY Chamber of Commerce, Dec. 12: The business lobby will hold its annual meeting and holiday networking party at the General Society Library (20 West 44th St., Manhattan) starting at 5:30 p.m.
City Hall Press Corps, Dec. 12: Mayor Eric Adams and other City Hall staffers will mingle with the city’s top political reporters at an off-the-record reception at Gracie Mansion.
Democratic Socialists of America, Dec. 13: The New York City chapter of the socialist organization is hosting a holiday social at SILO (99 Scott Ave., Brooklyn) to raise funds for its 2025 priorities, including Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral run.
NY Young Republicans Gala, Dec. 15: The next generation of MAGA will toast to President-elect Donald Trump’s victory at Cipriani Wall Street (55 Wall St., Manhattan) at 7 p.m. Special guests will include former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and far-right British lawmaker Nigel Farage.
NY Groove, Dec. 18: The independent blog will host its annual “No Office Holiday Party” at Littlefield (635 Sackett St., Brooklyn) at 7:30 p.m., complete with live-band karaoke and a tattoo artist.
Bronx Democrats, Dec. 18: Those looking for something a bit more selfless may want to head uptown, where the Bronx county party is hosting its annual holiday party/toy drive at SoBro Garden (26 Bruckner Blvd, Bronx) at 6:30 p.m.
New Kings Democrats, Dec. 19: The reform political club will be holding its annual party/fundraiser at Starr Bar (214 Starr St., Brooklyn) at 6:30 pm.
Allen Roskoff, Dec. 20: The longtime LGBTQ+ activist and political macher has already sparked controversy with the elaborate invitation to his 35th annual holiday bash – which consists of a two-minute video that splices together clips of the infamous “Springtime for Hitler” scene from “The Producers” with photoshopped images of Mayor Eric Adams, Queens DA Melinda Katz, Rep. Ritchie Torres and other prominent politicians.
