Jennifer Walden Weprin has a new gig, City & State has learned: She started as vice president of advancement at the French-American Foundation in October.
Walden Weprin – who is married to former Assembly Member and New York City Council Member Mark Weprin and whose brother-in-law is Assembly Member David Weprin – had previously served as executive director of the Queens County Farm Museum for five years. The farm’s board of directors opted not to renew her contract at the end of 2023, following an exposé last fall by the Queens Chronicle detailing the prized borough institution’s deterioration under her leadership.
The French-American Foundation, which seeks to strengthen the relationship between the two countries, has several high-profile sponsors, including L’Oreal and Bloomberg, in addition to some big names in New York circles. That includes law firm Paul, Weiss as well as Greenberg Traurig – where Mark Weprin was a shareholder for nearly six years, per his LinkedIn. Ed Wallace, the former council member at-large and co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s New York office, is chair of the foundation’s board of directors.
Before heading the Queens County Farm Museum, Walden Weprin served as director of cultural affairs and tourism for then-Queens Borough President Melinda Katz for about two years. Prior to that, she oversaw the marketing departments at the Louis Armstrong House Museum, Queens Theatre and the Great Neck Arts Center.
Walden Weprin did not respond to City & State's request for comment.
