Yankees or Mets? Here are a few NY politicians rooting for each team

Unsurprisingly, some Bronx politicians root for the Yankees and several Queens politicians back the Mets.

In an effort to bring unity to a divided baseball town, New York City Mayor Eric Adams made both sides upset with his hat that featured two logos. For Yankees and Mets fans who have been watching their teams make deep runs into the playoffs, some online commentators were critical of the mayor for pandering to both fanbases. But mayoral spokesperson Fabien Levy clarified to The New York Times, “Mayor Adams is a long-suffering Mets fan and has been clear he’s cheering them on to win it all.” Here are just a few local politicians who have staked out a clear position on their favorite baseball team.
