It's a sure bet that most neoyorquinos don't know who the hell Richard S. Bashner is. He's from Park Slope, just a couple of blocks away from Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Brooklyn stomping grounds – and according to a very well-informed bochinchero, he will soon be announcing he's challenging the mayor in a primary.
Bashner has been a successful Manhattan real estate attorney for a quarter of a century. He's also an active member of Brooklyn Community Board 6. He served as chair of the board's Community Development and Waterfront Development committees, and as a member of the Executive Committee. His term was due to expire March 31, 2017.
According to one bochinchero, he’s in the process of hiring a top election lawyer. “He's not a billionaire, but he's got money for a credible run,” the source added. Another credible bochinchero tells me that several people have advised Bashner to not do it. But, Richard who? is moving forward with his candidacy. Political consultants must be salivating at the prospects of increasing their billings.
REMEMBER GENTE, IT’S ALL BOCHINCHE UNTIL IT’S CONFIRMED.
