U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren is coming to New York City...but not to endorse Hillary Clinton.
Warren will be in Manhattan for a fundraiser next month – but not for Clinton or Bernie Sanders. Surprisingly enough, the fundraiser is for a certain member of the New York City congressional delegation who is up for reelection.
Warren’s credibility as a provocative, straight-talking academic is unquestioned, and she is widely recognized as the national standard bearer for liberal progressive policy. Warren’s rise in recent years led many Democrats and Independents to push for her to seek the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination.
Senator Warren's decision to not get into the presidential race was certainly a relief for some Democrats, none moreso than Clinton. The presumptive Democratic nominee has sought the Massachusetts senator’s endorsement, even though Warren’s political philosophy more neatly aligns with Sanders.
