Health Care for All New Yorkers
New York has done more than any state to expand access to healthcare and make it available to everyone. As we continue into the next phase fighting COVID-19, making sure every New Yorker has access to quality, equitable and technologically advanced healthcare has become critical. High-profile measures have been taken on the state and city levels to make sure New Yorkers are able to attain and keep health insurance. Meanwhile, debate continues over whether single-payer insurance is right for New York. What does it mean for New York to tackle these issues, and how will it impact patients, primary care providers, insurers, and the overall healthcare marketplace? Where does equity come into play here as we know health disparities have come to light?

Mental Health Care & Safety in New York
As we can see on our streets, transit, hospitals, homes, schools, etc., there is no way to deny that mental health affects many New Yorkers on a daily basis. In the city, Mayor Adams has been taking controversial steps to ensure that those on our streets and subways get the help they need. New York comes together in times of need, and there are many great programs that help New Yorker's of all ages, with various mental health needs including substance-use disorder programs. Since we know that economic status, physical environment, education level and more can impact people’s health and drug addiction, we need to work on the root as well as the issues once they arise. Advances are still needed.

Community Engagement with Aging and Vulnerable Populations
Community engagement from NY's advocacy organizations, schools, health care providers/systems, and many different types of companies, can help empower communities and improve quality of life. Partnerships have the organizational and technical resources to improve quality of life in all areas among the vulnerable and New York’s older adult populations. These include how NY's most vulnerable groups' needs are met including the economically, homeless, and mentally challenged, as well as the disabled, youth and elderly- among others. How is, and how can, New York work with leaders to address the needs of community members who are in need? What are the resources we need to know exist and how can we use them to our advantage?
