Health Equity in New York State: Examining the impact of the 340B Program
Join us as we discuss potential impacts of the Fee for Service carve out—which was championed by former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and his Medicaid Redesign Team II prior to the pandemic—and would result in $2.5 billion in cuts to safety net providers serving primarily low income, LGBTQ, and Black and brown New Yorkers.
Set to be implemented in 2023, advocates are demanding that Governor Hochul and the Legislature reverse this devastating proposal that will gut the federal 340B program in New York State. This program allows qualified safety net providers, such as community health centers, to purchase prescription drugs at a reduced price and invest that savings in patient centered services such as housing, mental health and nutrition assistance to low-income residents.
