Connecting All of New York
This panel will explore the trend of creating innovative infrastructure projects to help connect low-income, and minority communities with all of New York. Gov. Kathy Hochul has promised $3 billion in funding for infrastructure projects that reunite neighborhoods, promote economic growth and revitalize urban centers. All boroughs have received many different types of alternative transportation which has helped communities commute and connect more easily. The MTA is making more stations accessible, adding elevators to many stations and upgrading/adding accessibility features which makes travel much easier for vulnerable and disabled riders, as well as adding other paratransit services. Experts from government, construction and community development groups will come together to explain how this effort is unfolding in our region.
