Brooklyn is a hub of innovation, where builders and designers can put their crafts to good use and enhance the city that surrounds them.

In order to honor the imaginative thinkers that shape the landscape of our borough, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce hosts our Building Brooklyn Awards every July. Now in its 15th year, the Building Brooklyn Awards will recognize 13 recently-completed construction and renovation projects in various categories that improve our borough’s diverse neighborhoods and economy. This year, the Chamber is also pleased to honor Purnima Kapur, Executive Director of the NYC Department of City Planning, and Andrew Kimball, CEO of Industry City, for their career-long contributions to Brooklyn’s real estate and development industry.

Our judging committee, which was comprised of architects, planners, government officials, economic development experts and business leaders, convened earlier this spring to select the winners from the pool of nominees. The Brooklyn Chamber recently announced this year’s winners – a group of state-of-the-art projects that represent the creative influence and inventive culture that inhabit our borough and help to make Brooklyn a place the world needs to see.
